Austin Bohannon RELEASES BRAND NEW EP VIA THE ORCHARD DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL

- 1 Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in the music industry?

My background is not in music believe it or not. My background is sports and education. From the time I can remember the dream was always two things, earn an athletic scholarship and graduate with a good degree. After playing 5 years of collegiate baseball and graduating pre-med with a degree in Biomedical Sciences, I accomplished those dreams. Somewhere along the line though the universe started pulling me in another direction.. Music. I started writing songs in college in my free time. One day I worked up the nerve to show some friends a song I wrote and they loved it. It was that moment then where I started shifting my focus and knew I wanted to pursue something in music. After college I moved back to Muscle Shoals, Alabama and just started picking up shows. The rest is history

- 2 How would you describe your music style and what inspires your creativity?

I would say my music style is inspired deeply from country music. I have always loved the story telling of a country song. What inspires my creativity is being able to relate a topic that I feel with someone else. There's no better feeling than when a song resonates with you so that feeling inspires me to make music have that connection with someone else.

- 3 Can you talk about a specific project or album that you are particularly proud of and why?

I would say that I am always proud of “the next” project. Having that sporty background instilled in me, I am happy with a win but it is the next win I am always looking forward to. That being said, I am very proud of all the music I have been a part of equally.

- 4 How do you approach the songwriting process and what are some of the biggest challenges you face?

The biggest thing for me in songwriting is that the “vibe” has to be there. Writing a song that you have no emotional attachment to usually leads you down a dead end road. Whenever I am with other songwriters that have great energy and are feeling the topic, that is when the best songs seem to come out. The biggest challenges faces would be

writing with someone who has negative energy or writing about something you can not relate to.

- 5 Can you speak to your experience performing live and the energy you bring to your shows?

I take pride in making my live performance a great experience for the crowd. If you took time out of your day and money out of your wallet to see me I want to give you the best that I can. I try to keep a tight and well rehearsed band with constant new material to make things a fun time.

- 6 How do you balance your personal life with your music career and do you have any tips for aspiring artists?

I try to keep a balance between life and career. However, I will catch myself focusing more on my career than I probably should sometimes. While I am a total work in progress I would say this to an aspiring artist. Chase the crazy dream. You get this moment one time, so take the risk and see what happens. What you put in is what you get out. Work hard but don’t take it too seriously. The main thing in life that matters is to enjoy every experience you can. If that means taking time off, take time off.

- 7 Can you share any upcoming projects or collaborations that you are excited about?

I have an upcoming EP set to release soon! TBA. As far as other projects, I am always working. There is plenty of Austin Bohannon to come your way. I am constantly collaborating with artists, producers, and other songwriters. I can not wait to get some of the work out to the public very soon.

- 8 How do you see the music industry evolving in the future and how do you see yourself fitting into that change?

The music industry is constantly changing. The change that I see is there is less of a gap between genres. This change in the industry is equivalent to how a melting pot is good for society. You take different aspects of other music, blend with your music, and now the unique. I see the industry really being cross genre collaborative in the future.

- 9 Can you talk about any charitable or community initiatives you are involved in and why they are important to you?

Since I have started music, I have always wanted to do a charitable event. This year I am putting on an event where all of the proceeds will be donated to the “Angel Tree”. Christmas is a time of joy and love. While most parents work so hard for the best, the thought of children going without breaks my heart. As for the future I will constantly put on events for foundations and hope to have my own non profit foundation one day.

- 10 Can you give advice to aspiring artists looking to break into the industry?

Here is the best advice I can give..

  1. No one is going to do it for you.

  2. Hard work beats talent when talent is not working.

  3. If you want it done right, do it yourself.

  4. What you focus on is what you will attract.

  5. You are who you surround yourself with.

  6. It does not happen overnight, keep a big picture vision.
