ABSURD Magazine Interview with Rap Artist Toska Nova

It's an honor to speak with you today. Why don't you give us some details about you and your success. How did you get to where you are today?

That's a lot to encompass. I started at 15 as a music intern. It sparked a whole new world of ideas. From that point on, I went on to study as much about music and the industry as possible. Over time I had the blessing of meeting with some talented names and artists in the industry.

I'm sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?

Alot of the challenges came from my own head. Self-doubt was a huge factor for me artistically. I’ve always been more business intuitive than music intuitive so I learned who to talk to before how I could show them my best self-expression through music.

Why should someone work with you over the competition?

Who do I have to compete with, other than myself? Yes, I answered your question, with a question.

What's your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?

Trust Your Gut/Take a Risk and Build on a solid foundation. Know your people and know your worth. Know what you are getting into and who you are getting into business with.

Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?

To me success is what you make of it. I can’t define my success by anyone else or vice versa. Simply put if my people are happy and taken care of, I’m successful. On a side note, though: Maybe some nice cars, mansion and good food wouldn't hurt either.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Rocking some dope beats and having fun with the fans. I see myself showing the younger generations new paths to their own success and doing music with some of my idols.
